Consultation on Admission Policy for entry in 2024/2025
St Joseph’s Catholic Voluntary Academy in Leicester and St Francis Catholic Primary School in Melton Mowbray are proposing to amend to their currently determined admissions policy for entry in the academic year 2023 to 2024 and will be requesting a variation from the ESFA. In order to make this request they will be consulting from 25 October until 22 November 2022 on the proposed amendments below.
The proposed change is to reduce the PAN from 40 to 30 at St Joseph’s in Leicester and from 45 to 30 at St Francis in Melton Mowbray. The current PAN for both schools is significantly higher than local demand. The proposed reduction will bring the admission capacity more in line with the actual number of pupil intake. Reducing PAN will enable the schools to meet local demand and to reconfigure costs to reflect intake. It will enable the schools to reconfigure its spend to match funding levels. Without a PAN reduction the schools are likely to have significant and persistent deficits which will risk the financial sustainability of the school.
